Intersecting Wide Mineralised Zones in a Proven Structure

Britain offers a potential near-term mining opportunity for Kavango at Hillside. Early drilling provides evidence of a structurally-hosted gold system, with broad mineralised zones at shallow and intermediate depths. Results suggest both grade and structural continuity.

Britain landscape

Britain sits along the interpreted northern margin of a major regional deformation zone. Reprocessed geophysics and field mapping suggest the historic mine occupies a key structural position, with small-scale workings and historic trenching supporting the presence of near-surface mineralisation.

In 2023, Kavango drilled three diamond holes to test shear continuity and grade at depth:

  • BRDD001 intersected a well-mineralised, deformed shear zone, returning 7.2m @ 9.95 grams per tonne (“g/t”) Au from 50.6m and 2m @ 2.12g/t Au from 86m
  • BRDD002 cut multiple narrow veins, including 2m @ 0.53g/t Au from 163m and 1m @ 3.73g/t Au from 263m
  • BRDD003, drilled beneath the historic Britain Mine, hit stacked quartz veins with 2m @ 5.27g/t Au from 312.5m and 1m @ 7.94g/t Au from 315m

The drill results confirm the presence of a broad, shear-hosted system, with mineralisation remaining open in multiple directions. Importantly, high-grade intervals correlate with known workings at surface.

Kavango is now assessing options for further drilling. The goal is to establish whether Britain can support small-scale selective mining and provide ore to supplement gold production at Hillside.
