The Lonely Project consists of 30 contiguous claims covering a combined area of 416 hectares in southern Zimbabwe.
Kavango has exercised its option to acquire the 30 Lonely claims. These claims sit in a structurally favourable position within a known gold-producing district, with widespread artisanal activity pointing to continued near-surface mineralisation.
Lonely lies adjacent to a historic gold mine that produced over 1 million ounces (“oz”) of gold at an average grade of more than 0.5 ounces per tonne Au. Kavango believes the geological setting makes it a strong candidate for both open-pit and underground follow-up.
With large-scale historic production nearby and substantial small-scale activity on site, Lonely represents a significant opportunity to revisit this ground using modern exploration techniques.
*It is uncertain if further exploration will result in the determination of a Mineral Resource.
